THE DEACON PETER IGBINOSA SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
A Vision of Support, A Legacy of Impact
The Deacon Peter Igbinosa Scholarship Award was established on April 20th, 2025, as a heartfelt initiative in memory of my beloved father, Deacon P. I. Ekhator, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2025. It is a tribute to his unwavering faith, dedication to service, and commitment to raising godly leaders. My father’s quiet sacrifices and deep love for ministry and education inspired this vision to help others fulfill their divine calling—particularly in times of financial distress.
This scholarship is currently structured to support two distinct categories of people:
Christian Drama Ministers in Nigerian Universities, particularly those in their final year of study, who are actively involved in drama ministry (especially under ANCEDRAM and church-based ministries) and are struggling to finance their academic project work or final-year obligations. As a drama minister myself and an academic, I know the financial challenges some young Christian drama ministers in the university go through and this foundation hopes to give a helping hand.
The scholarship seeks to provide partial or full financial relief to these individuals so that they are not hindered in their calling or education due to economic limitations. It is not merely about giving money; it is about preserving purpose, calling, and ministry effectiveness. The support will help ease academic pressure while allowing beneficiaries to continue serving with excellence in their respective ministries.
This vision was birthed from a place of compassion and legacy-building. It is our prayer and intention that as the years go by, the Deacon Peter Igbinosa Scholarship Award will grow in scope—accommodating more categories of beneficiaries, including children of widows, mission school students, and others facing hardship, while still remaining true to its core vision of supporting kingdom service.
We believe this initiative will strengthen the Church, build leaders, and honour God, just as my father did throughout his lifetime. It is a seed of purpose that will yield fruit in lives and ministries for generations to come.

Final-Year Pastors-in-Training
The Deacon Peter Igbinosa Scholarship Award is aimed at supporting final-year pastors-in-training at the College of Theological Seminary, Benin City, who are genuinely committed to the call of God but are struggling with the burden of completing their school fees. This scholarship seeks to provide partial or full financial relief to such candidates to help them complete their theological training and enter into ministry effectively.
For Christian Drama Ministers
The Deacon Peter Igbinosa Scholarship Award is established to support committed Christian drama ministers who are in their final year of undergraduate studies in Nigerian universities. This scholarship seeks to ease the financial burden of their final-year project and related academic responsibilities, thereby empowering them to remain active in their divine calling while completing their academic pursuits.
Applicants must demonstrate commitment to Christian drama ministry both within and outside their church and be active members of their local church and ANCEDRAM (Edo State Chapter or beyond). Pastoral and academic references, as well as verifiable evidence of ministerial exploits, are required.
